What Are the 7 Major Chakras?

Chakras are an individual’s energy centers that are associated with physical, mental and emotional interactions. They are the openings in a person’s aura that allows life energy to flow into and out of. The function of a chakra is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of self-consciousness.

Chakras have been depicted as a funnel of sorts with smaller funnels within the funnel.

The 7 major chakras are root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow and crown. Read on to learn the colors associated with each chakra and the purposes they serve.

Chakras

DESCRIPTION
There are seven major energy centers in the body known as ‘Chakras’.  Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means “wheel”.  Therefore, a chakra is like a wheel spinning vortex that whirls in a circular motion forming a vacuum in the center that draws in anything it encounters on its particular vibratory level. The body does contain hundreds of other chakras that are instrumental to the operation of our existence.

Each of the seven main chakras are connected to specific organs, glands and body systems and each chakra is connected to a color vibration frequency.  (These are outlined in more detail below). These energy centers are coded with information that can be in the form of a color vibration, ultra-violet ray, radio or micro wave, or to another person’s aura.  Our chakras radiate energy vibrations as well as receive the energy of our environment, including the people we are in contact with.  Have you ever noticed how another person’s mood effects your own?

Please do not enter or leave chatroom once the circle has been cast unless you lose your connection or an emergency arises.

WHERE:

Coven Life’s Chatroom

What you will need:

A purple candle. (If you don’t have purple, use white)

Lighter or matches.

An amulet  (preferably small enough to hold in your hand).

As we will be doing a ritual for protection, you may want to decorate your altar with lavender, amethyst, or other items you may have that are purple.

RITUAL

Tonight we are honoring the full moon, known as the Hare Moon. There are many legends and folk tales of the hare and the image of him on the moon. In most, it is a tale of virtue that brings good fortune to the person that unselfishly gives of himself to help others. A great lesson to learn. It is a moon of abundance, growth, and protection. We will use this energy to empower an amulet to provide protection. I will now call the Watchtowers.

MAIA: I call the Watchtower of the East to protect those inside and outside our circle today.

I call upon the Watchtower of the South to protect those inside and outside our circle today.

I call upon the Watchtower of the West to protect those inside and outside our circle today.

I call upon the Watchtower of the North to protect those inside and outside our circle today.

Please open your quarters and please hear our call.

I call upon Spirit to guide us in peace and love.

I ask the Goddess Diana to walk this circle three times three to lend us her power and energy as we gather here today. Let us come together and celebrate the lunar Goddess and the power she brings.

Merry greet brothers and sisters of the craft.

EVERYONE: Please type your name and country you live in.

MAIA: We gather here this day to ask the Goddess for protection from harm to our physical or mental well being. Let no one cause injury or heartache to our body or soul and may we be mindful to not cause pain for others.

EVERYONE: Please light your candle.

Please hold the item you have chosen to empower in your hands. Close your eyes and feel the item. See the item in your mind’s eye. Envision a protective barrier surrounding the item. Take 2 minutes to make the item your own personal amulet.

EVERYONE: When ready, type As I will it So Mote It Be!

Carry your amulet to feel protected or if it is large, place it by the front door of your house. It can be on a chain on your neck, hang from your rearview mirror, on a keychain, etc. Remember the power your amulet holds is the energy you have given it….recharge it by holding it in your hand and meditating.

MAIA: I dismiss the Watchtower of the East with thanks for their energy and protection here today.

I dismiss the Watchtower of the South with thanks for their energy and protection here today.

I dismiss the Watchtower of the West with thanks for their energy and protection here today.

I dismiss the Watchtower of the North with thanks for their energy and protection here today.

I dismiss Spirit from our circle with love and thanks.

I thank the Goddess Diana for her presence here today and for lending us her energy for protection. Please return from where you came.

Extinguish the candle safely.

The circle is open, but not broken. Go in perfect love and perfect trust.

Thank you, brothers and sisters, for joining us here today. Until Merry, we meet again.

Types Of Wicca

Alexandrian Wicca

Founded in England during the 1960s, Alex Sanders referred to himself as the “King” of his Witches. The rituals are said to be modified Gardenarian.

British Wicca

A mix of Celtic and Gardenarian beliefs. Most famous organization at this time is the International Red Garters. British Traditionals move mostly from within the Farrar studies (the famous Witch husband and wife from England.) They too are fairly structured in their beliefs, and train through the degree process. Their covens are also co-ed.

Celtic Wicca

The use of a Celtic/Druidic pantheon mixed with a little ritual Gardnerian, and heavily stressing the elements, nature and the Ancient Ones. They had a vast knowledge of and respect for the healing and magickal qualities of plants and stones, flowers, trees, elemental spirits, the little people, gnomes and fairies.

Pathwalking with the Rune : http://www.northernshamanism.org/pathwalking-with-runes.html

This rune provides defence. When the things get messy,  it can help you to put them in order. If there is something that is not right in magic yet, this thing affects all things. In such a situation Eihwaz can be used in combination with other runes to keep the magic as a whole in certain boundaries.

Eihwaz symbolises the Yew Tree. It is a tree that was used for making bows and arrows. Eihwaz is a powerful rune for  exorcism and defence. It increases the force. It removes the obstacles. This rune leads into the wisdom of the World Tree or Multiverse and helps one to realise the mysteries of death and life. Getting free from the fear of death. Developing of spiritual endurance and strong will. Developing of a soul creativity. Protection from evil forces.  General increase of the personal power. Communication between the different levels of being.  Memories from past lives.

Eihwaz can be used for completing  situations and solving problems. It brings wisdom when you are in trouble.

Interpretation : You have powers of defence, powers to put off and head off the unwanted forces. It means defence, patience, caution against a sudden attack. This rune is under the number 13 that is the source of the superstition about  the fatal number 13. Yew trees used to be planted to keep unwanted animals away, to make the best bows. You should not fear from this rune because it means endurance and continuity. Eihwas includes defence magic and in general it represents safety against attacks. It is a wonderful defence weapon.

Divination : It is time for transformation , time to leave the old and enter the new one; new life, new dreams, new beginnings. The only constant thing is the change.

The fast advancement requires from you not to oppose but to accept the changes. You should not fear. The changes may be scary but you should keep on walking your path and remain true to yourself. Soon you will reach your goal.

Eihwaz does not have reverse meaning. You should express your passive defence potentials. You can easily overcome what  seems dangerous to you, you should do this with concentrated effort and patience. This rune advices you to be flexible and to use your imagination to make  each situation beneficial to you.

Eihwaz in combination with ansuz and Jera may indicate that long neglected problems will find their solution.

Eihwaz is also the rune of the Ash staff. That means defence. The type of defence depends on the way you draw this rune. If you draw it from top to base,  it is pure defence. If you draw it from base to top, it is aggressive defence. This rune can stumble people. You can place it on a certain place on the ground to stop someone who enters there. You can draw it directly against someone to stop this one. This rune will not affect them unless they step towards you and your property. Eihwaz is not that aggressive rune as Tyr . Eihwas can be carved onto a tree or placed  on a few  places in a certain territory, it stumbles the intruders  until they are  in and finally forces them to leave that place.

Fr protection of property Eihwaz can be used in combination with Algiz and Tyr.

The rune is drawn with the index and middle fingers together.

You can use Eihwaz to evoke the tree of Life Yggdrassil and its mysteries of life and death. This tree that gives Life had buried its roots deep into the Underworld of Hel and the realms of death.  Thus Eihwas represents the communication between the worlds. It gives defence and increases the personal power.

The Eihwaz rune is also associated with the spinal column, the core self, and the eternal part of the soul.  The rune is linked to the yew bow through the Old Icelandic rune poem, the weapon of choice for the God Ullr and the giantess Skadi who ‘becomes’ a goddess through her marriage to the benevolent sea God Njord.  Despite the benefits of this match with Njord, Skadi cannot bear the warm, sloshy sea and eventually returns to her hall within the cold, grey mountains where she is said to spend her time with her lover Ullr, speeding joyfully across the glittering snow on swift skis, enjoying the hunt together.  Skadi’s strength of personality left the Gods themselves quaking in their boots (hence the marriage to Njord which was designed to appease her), she represents the core self which must find expression, no matter what the cost.

Pagan Portals – Fairy Witchcraft A Neopagan’s Guide to the Celtic Fairy Faith

Many neopagans today are drawn to honor the fairies but find that the modern-day path to Fairy is hidden in mist and shadow. Yet the path is still there, waiting for those who are ready to seek it out. This is a guidebook for those seeking a path that combines modern neopagan witchcraft with the older Celtic Fairy Faith. Topics include basic beliefs and practices, holidays, tools, altar set up, and theology, with the intent of giving the seeker a solid grounding in the basics of modern Fairy Witchcraft.

REVIEWS & ENDORSEMENTS

Can you recognize a fairy cat? Morgan Daimler has interacted with Fairies since she was a small child. She views them three-dimensionally, not as the limited New Age/media-interpreted versions that many of us are familiar with. She sees them as they are with their full range of emotions and motivations. Telling it like it is, she recounts her system of Fairy Witchcraft, based on decades of personal experience. She goes back to the roots of Celtic pagan wisdom to put it all into perspective, but it’s clear that the information she conveys is not from “book learning”. It comes from contact with the Fey Folk themselves. This very personal recollection has a special air of enchantment about it. As one reads, it becomes clear that Daimler not only has personal experience with the Wee Folk, she has been completely charmed by them. She has not, however, been deluded by “pixie-led glamour”. She just likes these…
