A Way to Help get Spiritual Balance

As many of you know I have been going through a very rough period in my life the last few months. Today I was at the train station waiting to get on a train to go to my younger daughter’s to watch her children. The Sun was just rising and the Moon still hang beautifully in the sky. It was then I remembered something that was taught to me when I was just a novice of an easy way to help gain or regain balance spiritually.

This can be done during any Moon phases except the New Moon. The reason it can not be done on the New Moon is because you have to see the Moon in relation to where the Sun is rising. Stand at a point you think or feel is halfway between the Sun and Moon. Acknowledge the two however you wish, I personally say, “Good morning Ra (Egyptian Sun God) and Sister Moon.” Then take a few steps forward while chanting three times ” Sun and Moon please bring me balance.” Turn around and walk to where you started chanting the same words three times. When you have reached your starting point be sure to thank the Sun and Moon for their help.

This is not a fix all for spiritual unbalance but it will help along with meditation, Chakra cleansings, and listening to your spirit guides for direction.

The Great Horned God

The Great Horned God
The consort of the Goddess and symbol of male energy in the form of the divine, The Horned God reigns. He is the lord of the woodlands, the hunt and animals. He provides for the tribe through the hunt and is honored or rewarded for his deed by being permitted to copulate with the Goddess through the Great Rite.

The Horned God is is the lord of life, death and the underworld. And is the Sun to the Goddess’ Moon. He alternates with the Goddess in ruling over the fertility cycle of birth, death and rebirth. He is born at the winter solstice, unites with the Goddess in marriage at Bealtaine, and dies at the summer solstice to bring fertility to the land as the Sacred King.

He is not just a Celtic representation of the God, nor does he solely belong to Wicca, as he has been associated with many deities throughout the world.

  • Cernunnos, The Celtic God of fertility, animals and the underworld.
  • Herne The Hunter, a specter of Britain.
  • Pan the Greek god of the woodlands,
  • Janus the Roman god of good beings.
  • Tammuz and Damuzi, the son, lover and consorts to Ishtar and Inanna.
  • Osiris, the Egyptian Lord of the underworld.
  • Dionysus, the Greek god of vegetation and vine.
  • The Green Man, the lord of vegetation and the woodlands.

Putting Garden to Sleep Blessing

As the plants wither and die the give back nourishment to Mother Earth. As the leaves fall from the trees to help insulate the plants that will bud again in spring.
I wish Mother Earth a pleasant slumber under a Prue white blanket of snow.
To reguvenate and wake refreshed when spring time comes again.
I thank Ra and Father Sky for the warmth and rain that helps the plants and trees to grow.
May they find time to rest as the days grow shorter and the night longer.
I thank the elements Air, Fire, Water and Earth for their willingness to help the plants and trees reach maturity and to spread there seeds far and wide.
I ask the Universe to watch over us all; plants, trees, animals and humans throughout the cold days and nights to come.
So mote it be. A’Ho
