Full moon ritual for releasing negativity

This months full moon ritual will be to help cleanse yourself from negativity and anger.  Everyone has been hurt physically, emotionally, mentally and this is the time to release the negativity and anger from ourselves.  Some of this negativity is caused by our very own actions, we are often our worse critics, but also from the action of others. We are doing this so we can start the healing process and bring more happiness and positivity to ourselves.

The full moon is when the positive energy is the strongest and we have the best chance of letting go of anger and negativity and start the healing process and start being more positive so that we can continue to grow in all aspects.

Please as we do this ritual place on your altars some of the things that help you the most to be in one with the gods.  These can be candles, incense, stones, bowls, flower petals, gentle colors, water, or something to remind you of the proper season.  For each of us our altars are unique so please use what you need. You will need a couple pieces of paper, a fire source and a place to burn these safely.

As our ritual starts please sit or stand in front of the altar.  If possible place your altar outside but as you are there do not let your shadow fall over the altar

This is what I will do but will not say. To start the ritual I would first move my altar to the middle of the room making sure the point of the star pointed northeast, I would then sage the altar and the room to cleans the area.  I would then place on the alter my statue of Hekate for my goddess and a piece of antler that I use to represent odin. I would then place a white candle to represent the spirit in the northeast point, moving clockwise I would then use a feather to symbolize air in the east, usually a small red candle to represent fire in the south, water in the west and salt to represent the north.

I would add to my altar the different things of abundance/harvest for my area that is corn and apples and a cup of apple cider and some homemade bread.  I would also add either a couple candles or pieces of cloth colors of green and gold to represent the season.

I would do this all in private before the ritual actually started as all witches set their altars up in a unique way, although I would suggest some grain or other materials that are in season to be harvested.

I will open the ritual by saying I call the watchtower of the East and I ask Auriel to help protect this circle and empower the work within my circle.

I call the watchtower of the South and I ask Gabriel to help protect this circle and empower the work within my circle.

I call the watchtower of the West and I ask Raphael to help protect this circle and empower the work within my circle.

I call the watchtower of the North and I ask Michael to help protect this circle and empower the work within my circle.

I will then say I travel 3 times around our circle brothers and sisters in a clockwise manner to seal our circle so we are safe to do this ritual.  I start in the east and point at the ground first and walk clockwise saying I close this circle with earth that no harm may come to anyone inside or outside of this circle. I will then point to the ceiling and say I close this circle with air so that no harm may come to anyone inside or outside of this circle,  then finally at shoulder level  I will say I close this circle with fire that no harm may come to anyone inside or outside of this circle.

I would then say what is above is below our circle is formed may it may be opened but never broken.

I will then say i welcome the element of air by touching a feather and thank them for helping me with this circle .  Next will then welcome the element of fire by lighting a candle and thank them for helping me with this circle. I will then welcome water by touching the element and thank them for helping me with this circle and then to the north i will welcome the earth by touching that element and thank them for helping me with this circle.

I would then welcome the goddess (Hekate) and the god (Odin) to the circle and thanking them for attending and helping me with my work.

We have sealed the circle please use a couple of minutes here to calm your breathing, set up your gems light candles, and take a couple of deep breathes as you relax.  Visualize positive energy entering into your body from the ground and starting to heal you.

Please everyone type the word done and we will move to the next step.

Please get out your 2 pieces of paper on one piece please write down all the negative that you want to dispose of concentrate for several minutes and make sure you write anything and everything down that you wish to be rid of.   On the 2nd piece of paper write down all the positives. These are things that you want to continue, this is letting the universe know that you are thankful for them. The full moon in this case is acting as an agent/witness in contract with the universe.

Please type done when this is finished

Take the list of the negatives and safely light it and as it burns imagine all these things leaving your body like a toxin that has had an antidope applied, imagine as these things leaving your body, as that happens your body replaces these with positives.  As this happens repeat something like: Dear Universe, I no longer need these things the lessons have been learned and I am ready to move past these things and bring more positivity into my heart so good things will happen in the future.

When finished type done

Now take the 2nd list and carefully light this, imagine all the positives that are on this list and think about how positives will trigger more positives.  Make sure your heart is open and you are being honest and say something to the effect of with positives more positives will be spawned, my heart is open to these possibilities.  May these positives help me to be more present, to serve better, and to keep my eyes and heart open to all the positives around me

Now brothers and sisters lets take a minute or 2 just to sit relax and meditate on this knowing that positive energy will bring more positive energy and that with patience good things will come about

When you are finished please type done

I will then say our work is done, thank you Hekate for working with us today and with the utmost gratitude please return from where you came.  I will then say thank you Odin and with the utmost gratitude for working with us today please return from where he came. I will then say as i touch the element, I dismiss the earth and thank them for participating in the ritual.  I then will say I dismiss the element of water as I touch it and thank them for participating in our ritual. I will then say I dismiss fire as I snuff out my candle and thank you for participating in our ritual. I would then say I dismiss air as i touch the feather again and say thank you for participating in our ritual.

I will then say thank you to Michael and please return from where you came, I will then thank Raphael and please return from where you came, I will then thank Gabriel and ask them to return from where they came and finally Auriel and ask them to return from where they came.

I will then rotate counterclockwise first at shoulder level thanking fire for protecting our circle.  I will then point to the ceiling and thank air for protecting our circle and finally point to the ground and thank earth for protecting our circle.  I will then hold my palms flat out to the ground and say all residual energy please release back into mother earth to help heal her.

I will then say brothers and sisters our ritual is over please go in peace and know that our circle is open but never broken, blessed be.

WEEK 12 – Goddess Knowledge – The Bird Goddess/Valkyrie

The Bird Goddess is one of the most ancient goddesses, both a living-giving creator and goddess of death and regeneration. The Valkyrie, a northern European goddess, is a representation of this goddess as death wielder, The bird guise of the Valkyrie is that of a raven, long associated with death and magic. The name Valkyrie means “chooser of the slain”; the face and form of the Valkyrie are the last thing a person sees before death, Valkyries are the psychopomps who lead the soul to the afterworld. For ancient people death was part of a cyclical process leading again to rebirth; black was a positive color, a symbol of fertility and abundance, The Valkyrie represents that part of us that is unafraid of dark places; she can lead into and through them. She reminds us that seeds germinate in the darkness, that sometimes we need darkness in order to grow.

The Importance of Grounding Excess Energy After Doing a Spell or Ritual

During any type of magickal workings there is energy that is unused to complete it. This energy, especially if it is allowed to build up over time can cause minor or major problems usually with electronic devices. So grounding the extra energy every single time you do a spell and/or ritual whether you are doing inside or outside of a sacred circle must be grounded to Mother Earth. She should be told the energy is here to use however it will help her. You should also do this anytime you cast a circle for any reason.

To ground the excess energy raise your hands palm facing downward, as far as you can than slowly bring them down until you touch the ground of outside of the floor inside. If you cannot bring your hand all the way down bring them.as close to the ground or floor as you can and then imagine the energy being pushed down from that level into Mother Earth.

Wether you are working alone as a Solitary or in a Coven this is a very important piece of the spell.and/or ritual to especially when I’m your home.

I have a sister who had practiced for a few years grounding the extra energy only when she felt like it which was not that often. One  day many years ago we were talking about witch stuff and she was explaining  some problems she was having with the lights on her altar along with the fact her desktop computer, which was in the same room wasn’t working right at all and no scans could find anything wrong. After explaining the importance of grounding she did a major grounding of the built up excess energy over the years including grounding herself. The next day her computer and lights in the room started working right again.

When I forget to ground excess energy, we all can for her sometimes, after doing a quick spell in my den which is also the room I use as my sacred space/altar room, it builds up and starts blowing up light bulbs somewhere in my home. So try not to let this happen very often, replacing light bulbs can be expensive…lol Even after lighting and putting out an empowered I ground this excess energy. I have a healing candle that I normally light daily to help with my fibromyalgia pain, so I ground excess energy almost every day. Yes sometime I for get to do it after I put the candle out and if I have not done anything else like a spell, ritual of a circle for some reason it does not cause me a problem but if I do not ground the excess energy after lighting the candle two days it will cause some  type of electrical problem in my, as I really  refer to it, witch cave, will.happen or in the bathroom that you enter into through my witch cave.

Besides feeding your intention in to your the other very important thing is to always ground excess energy as soon as your magical work is done. If you are working in a circle ground the excess energy before opening the circle.
