Lady Beltane Making Her Move Back to Illinois 11/28/2020

For from now until December 6, 2020 on WOTC there will only be a Current Planetary Positions post for the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, Daily Moon Phase, and Birthday Horoscope. I am finally coming to where I belong and who I belong with after 19 years of being apart my Yang and I will be together with a stronger and dare I say more loving relationship than we had two decades ago. I will be including him in some of my posts after packing, picking up and loading the  moving truck, driving to Illinois, unloading and returning the moving truck, all to have the joy of unpacking all of mine and Star’s belongings. In a previous post I explained the steps I went through to make sure this is the right move for me, I understand with this being my 4th move in 5 months that some of you maybe asking yourself is Lady Beltane sure this will be her last move? My answer is YES it is, Mr. Beltane (until he picks his own Pagan name or an alias to use on our websites) is to paraphrase a saying we use here in the States “He is the one I pushed away.”  I cannot explain in the words we have use of today how ecstatic I am that while we were living very separate lives we were we still thought of each other often and with love and respect in our heart for the other. As we start talking again by phone over the last two months our feelings that had bee buried under a lot of rubble begin to emerge to find light and good soil to be able to continue growing and blooming.

This week I need to do posts in between packing and next week I will be doing them in between packing, and working with Mr. Beltane in the evenings. He has an ability to hear voices that have not crossed the veil into the Spirit World yet, to smell things that there is no reason for the scent, for example coffee brewing he is the only human living in the house right now and doesn’t even own a coffee maker. He is open to The Old Ways and I am sure in the not to distance future he will be join me in our coven. He will start as a novice and work his way up to stand beside me as our High Priest. How do I know this? Through a series of repeated dreams and visions when meditating. Once Star and I get settled in some I will go back to posting all 6 Custom Planetary Position posts along with the Moon Phase, Birthday horoscope, and whatever else calls to me for that day.

I ask that you understand and give me some lee way over the next couple of weeks with posts, possible coven gathering, reviewing lessons, along with answering comments and emails. I appreciate your support, caring, and understanding. WOTC and Coven Life have I believe the best group of Pagan Sisters, Brothers, and Guests from a variety of religions as readers, students, coven members, and all around great people.

Blessings for a healthy and happy week, dear ones.

#FridayThe13th: Dominican Superstitions, Rituals & Spells

Salt? Elephants? Money? Take notes.

Magic, superstition, and religious beliefs are woven into the very fabric of Dominican culture and it’s hard to see where one ends and the other begins. It was so normalized, that in my household, no one batted an eye whenever anyone mentioned spirits or witches. Not in a puritanical, fearful way or dripping in skepticism, but with the matter-of-fact tone of someone who had been raised to see magic, wonder, and God everywhere.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Friday the 13th (and as it turns out Tuesday the 13th) would hold some special significance for those of us who believe in magic. It is a day where spells, potions, and prayers increase in potency—even more if the day coincides with a full moon.

So on this day, #FridayThe13th: Dominican Superstitions, Rituals & Spells

Some Pet Tips For This Holiday Season – Part 1

Lady Beltane has worked with canines for 48 years as a groomer, obedience and law enforcement trainers, show dog handler and mom to many temporary but only a few permanent ones. She also had a cat for 18 years. Lady Beltane got certified veterinarian assistant in 2008. She specialized in canine nutrition and midwifery. Lady Beltane learned to train dogs the old fashion way of being an apprentice for 3 years than was over seen for another 2 years. So she is not just pulling ideas out of thin air she has done the legwork to be able to bring you these tips. She will be posting some tips every Sunday until after the mainstream New Year.

  1. Do not feed any 4 legged pet grapes pealed or not
  2. Do not feed a pet any citrus fruit whether you take the membrane off or not
  3.  Do not let the eat onions or chocolate as both can be deadly to our beloved pets
  4. Do not let the dog in the room when decorating your Yule tree as they may try to chase and bite the lights as you put them up, eat garland or tinsels both of these usually get caught in the intestines and have to be surgically removed.
  5. Do not leave a Poinsettia plant where a human child or any pets can reach it as both the leaves and the little white balls are very poison.
  6. While unwrapping gifts again make sure all pets are safely out of the room as cats will stalk and try to eat the paper and even some of they toys, this goes for dogs also but they will also try to eat those pesky plastic or wire things that hold a toy in place in it’s box.
  7. If you are going to get someone a puppy, kitten, or another type of mammal for Yule I suggest you get it a couple of days after the extended family has left, all garbage from presents and food are safely in the trash bin outside. A new animal is a lot of work and they can be scared easily and it doesn’t need to many different people outside of the nuclear family handling it for a few weeks. The reason for not getting the new pet a head of all the commotion of celebrating Yule is the animal may get forgotten or accidentally injured while their humans celebrate.

Some Thoughts About Celebrating Samhain

Samhain is a day of reflection of the past year while celebrating the new. It is a day that whatever has not been harvested from gardens, fields, bushes, and trees get left for the wildlife and Fea Folk. It is also a day to communicate with those who have crossed the veil into the Summerlands. Many pagans and witches say it is the day and/or night to honor only those that have crossed in the last year but I do not go along with this way of thinking. While those who have passed since November 1, 2019 up to today do need more comforting and remembering them then those that have crossed over in other years past. The farther back in time you go to those who have crossed before the last year the more chance there is that they will be forgotten totally.

Hypothetically, if crossed the veil say 30 years ago or longer and each generation after you talk about you less and less as each year passes soon you will be forgotten completely. That one reason I have my Book of Shadows and Family Grimoire as one book that I hope keeps growing after I am gone. I have also placed pictures of ancestors at different ages as well as pictures of myself alone and with family members both ancestors and descents. In the section for ancestors I have included a picture of their headstone and where it can be found if available.

So this Samhain when you are setting the extra place at the table, lighting a candle for each ancestors name, or however you choose to honor your ancestors (remember an ancestor does not have to be blood related they can be anyone in your life that help to mold you into the person you are today.) Set one more place, light one more candle, or whatever your tradition to remember your ancestors is for those who names have been forgotten since the first Homosapien of any branch of the human gene pool lived.

I implore you all to remember that we all can trace our lineage back to this mish mash of a gene pool and that the energy that runs through us connects us to every other living things and not just on Mother Earth. So the next time you have a negative thought about someone for any reason at all remember you are also having that negative thought about yourself.

I picked this song to be included in this post because for me it helps me to remember those, female or male or other, who otherwise might be forgotten

Grandmother

I wish all my family, which means everyone reading this post, a happy and blessed Samhain.

Superstitions

Around this time of year superstitions seems to come at us from all over the place. With this in mind I pulled out my book Cassell Dictionary of Superstitions by David Pickering Copyright 1995.

I will be posting a few today and tomorrow in among the articles, spells, potions, etc for Samhain and Beltane. If there is a superstition that has been passed down in your family or that you believe in and would like some more information about them please write a description of the superstition in the comment area.

Many times during my youth my mother, who is now in the Summerlands, told me they story of her grandmother picking up and throwing the first pair of shoes she ever bought for herself across the room a breaking the heel off one of them. The reason being her grandmother believed that putting shoes on the table was bad luck. My family has many other superstitions that I will share as we get closer to our holidays.

REMEMBER WE WANT TO HER ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY’S SUPERSTITIONS. JUST WRITE THEM IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING it will help me think my family isn’t a wacky about superstitions as I think they are 😂😉
