Why Did the Welsh Bury Their Dead at Stonehenge?

Study suggests cremated remains found at the site belong to outsiders who may have brought stones from Welsh quarry, aided monument’s construction

Researchers studied the cremated remains of between 10 and 25 individuals interred at Stonehenge (Public domain)

Most know Stonehenge for its circle of towering, seemingly immovable monoliths, but perhaps lesser known is that during the site’s early days, it mainly functioned as a cemetery. Thousands of years after the first interments at Stonehenge, the dead are finally revealing their secrets—and, according to a new study published in Scientific Reports, the biggest revelation is that many of those buried at the site originally came from some 140 miles away in western Wales.

Most Saturdays Offer 2 Different Places for Open Chats at Different Times so No Over Lapping and Have to Choose Which Chatroom to Go Too

Lady Abyss and Lady Beltane have both noticed in their respective chatrooms that quite a few people come into either chatroom and do not participate in the chat. If the topic being discussed does not interest you no problem, send a message in the chatroom feed suggesting a topic you want to know more about or have knowledge to share about it, or if you have a question you would like someone to try and answer again post it on the chatroom message board. We want to hear from everyone who comes into the chatrooms. If you do not want to participate why bother coming at all to “visit” with other witches/pagans? Both chat rooms are open to anyone joining in as long as they follow Witches of The Craft and Coven Life’s guidelines.

The open chat in WOTC’s chatroom is every Saturday starting at 10:00 AM CT to 1:00 PM CT. Here is the link to get into Lady A’s chatroom: WOTC Chatroom Since you enter the chatroom through the WOTC store Magickal Necessities come to the chatroom a little early and “window shop” in Magickal Necessities. There is a pretty large selection just start clicking on the items listed in the Menu.

The open chat in Coven Life’s chatroom CL’s Chatroom take place on the second Saturday of every month from 3:00 to 6:00 PM CT and on the fourth Saturday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 PM CT. Also, Lady Beltane will meet you in CL’s chatroom one on one if you feel the need to talk to a High Priestess/pagan minister about lessons if you are a student or something you are going through that you could use an ear to listen and arms for a virtual hug

Lady Abyss and Lady Beltane both look forward to seeing you soon at one open chat. You are welcome to come to as many open chats as you would like to as you want to come to. The best thing for the CL open chat is it is unlike an Esbat, Sabbat, or special gathering is you can come and go from the chats as often as you want to. But please remember if you come to one of the chats you really should participate not just sit in the background like a stalker or something. Also, bookmark the chat rooms so when you want to chat all you have to do is click on the bookmark for both chat rooms and jump right into the room with a BIG HELLO or however you want to greet the others in the chatroom.

If no one is in the chatroom when you first pop in go check out the WOTC’s store MAgically Necessities. If you are trying to figure out what you may need for a spell or ritual please ask one of us and we will find it in Magickal Necessities and then send you the link to look at it yourself and then purchase it if is what you were looking. If you do not find what you want in the store just click on “Contact” in the menu or ask Lady Abyss about it in the chatroom. Yes, I know I put either item direct links into a post or the link for the store itself but I figure someone read this or another post with links it might not be aware of the fantastic Witch/Pagan supply store so close at hand and it does help WOTC cover the monthly running expenses. Support your, local merchant, just like you would in the town. you live in.

Why does Coven Life Charge for Novice and Adept Courses and Ask for Donation From Other Readers

I am kind of sure you get tired of seeing posts asking for a donation on this site for another site. This time I am asking for help to bring you a wider content of subjects to Coven Life’s website. All I ask is you read this post and think about making a small donation

I know if I was asked to pay a fee to take a course to learn The Craft and/ or if I found a website asking for a small donation to help keep it running that is open to the public for anyone to read any articles for free, I would ask myself why do they need money.

So I thought I should give you the approximate amounts it takes monthly to keep this website and our private chat room, open to any coven member and/or guest as a safe place to talk to others in The Craft and to hold ritual gatherings in.

Here are the approximate monthly and yearly costs Coven Life has to pay as with anything these costs could go up from the companies we pay them too at any time:

Electricity $30.00 per month

Internet connection (1/2 of total monthly fee I’m charged because my internet connection is used for personal connection also) $20.00 per month

Coven Life’s Private Chat Room $48.00 per year

Coven Life’s Domain Name: $33.00 per year

Right now the website is free but if we want to still be able to post songs and/or videos we have to change from the free plan to a “Personal (Premium) Plan” the cost is on special at the moment for $28.00 per month instead of the normal $48.00 per month it could increase back to WordPress normal fee at anytime. We want and enjoy being able to bring you links for pagan songs and videos plus maybe do a podcast of our gatherings live when possible but cannot for lack of funding.

All Coven Life’s staff members including myself have benn, are, and will continue being unpaid volunteers.

So maybe once a month you could skip a coffee from one of those high price coffee places. Or keep your change when you make purchase with cash wherever. Than take the change into the bank once a month, have it deposit to your account and than donate to Coven Life. Even if it is only $1.00 or $2.00 a month every little bit helps.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to help us give you an informative website and private chat room (open 24 hours a day 7 days a week for you to use to talk with other witches, students, coven members or Elders.

With love and graditude,

Lady Beltane and the CL Staff

Genetic ‘Adam and Eve’: All Humans are Descendants of One Man and Woman Who Lived Over 100,000 Years Ago

I do not believe in the creation story that many mainstream religions teach but I do believe that we were created by our Mother Goddess and Father God. The two of them make up the Ying and Yang in all every living thing no matter whether it is a plant, animal (which includes us humans) or trees or whatever. So I thought while I was reading this following article from Anicent Origins about every person who has lived, is living, or will live on this planet are all connected by genetic coding going back over 100,000 years ago I felt I wanted to share it with those of you that find this type of knowledge interesting.

According to the creation myth of the Abrahamic religions, Adam and Eve were the first man and woman and the ancestors of all humans. While non-believers refute the idea of a God that created human beings in the Garden of Eden, scientific research has revealed that all humans alive today are descendants of one man and one woman who may have lived at the same time over 100,000 years ago.

In 1987, studies of mitochondrial DNA (which tracks maternal ancestry), suggested that all human beings were descendants of one woman who may have lived in Africa about 200,000 years ago. Similar research has been carried out on the Y chromosome of men (which tracks paternal ancestry), from various places, but here the estimates of research vary quite widely—from 60,000 years to 580,000 years ago. However, in 2013, a study published in the journal Science showed that almost every man alive today can trace his origins to one man who lived approximately 135,000 years ago, and that this ancient man was alive at the same time as the woman who his known as the ‘mother of all women’, providing evidence for an ancient ‘Adam and Eve’, popularly known as Y-chromosomal Adam and mitochondrial Eve.

Most Comprehensive Study on Male Sex Chromosome

The research team reached their conclusions by carrying out the most complete study to date on the male sex chromosome. The study involved sequencing the entire genome of the Y chromosome for 69 men from seven global populations.  By assuming a mutation rate linked to archaeological events (such as the migration of people), the team concluded that all males in their global sample shared a single male ancestor in Africa roughly 125,000 to 156,000 years ago.

Mitochondrial Eve

A similar analysis has also been conducted to trace back a common ancestor of all women, known as ‘mitochondrial Eve’.  The DNA from mitochondria, the energy centre of a cell, is carried inside a female’s egg, so only women pass it on to their children. The DNA held inside mitochondria can therefore reveal the maternal lineage to ancient ‘Eve’, who is believed to have lived in Africa between 99,000 and 148,000 years ago – almost the same time period during which the Y chromosome ‘Adam’ lived.

Adam and Eve Did Not Reproduce

Before getting too excited, the research team were eager to emphasize the fact that the genetic ‘Adam and Eve’ are not the same as the biblical Adam and Eve. “They weren’t the first modern humans on the planet,” reports LiveScience “but instead just the two out of thousands of people alive at the time with unbroken male or female lineages that continue on today.

With Heartfelt Thanks and Tears of Joy

I know my sister, Lady Abyss has thanked you for helping her to live but I feel I need to thank you for you rallying around the plea I made for her yesterday. She is getting her life-saving medicine because every person who donated towards it no matter how small or how large it all help her to reach her goal. It is a marvelous thing you did for her and her sons. I so excited to be going to Lady A’s life celebration gathering and I hope you will all attend.

Let us not stop the healing candles and prayers, miracles do happen and hopefully, with enough of us pouring out powerful positive healing energy to Lady Abyss there will come a time in her life that she can go off this medication and still live a long life.

I gratefully bow in thanksgiving to Lynette, Elanor and Lord M for being there 24/7 since the fire to protect her in the hospital and help her do things she just could not do when she came home from the hospital after the fire all the way through to the crying and shouts of jubilation as Lynette ran out the door this afternoon to get Lady A’s life-saving medicine. The time, energy, support, love etc you have given our Lady is priceless. Thank you again.

My brothers and sisters, I cannot explain the roller coaster my emotions have been on the last month with our Lady in the hospital again and then finding out that she can only live by taking expensive medicine. I thank you for the love and support you have shown to me also.

I ask the healing Goddesses I work with, Kwan Yin and Sirona, to keep you all in good health. I also ask them that if you have health problems that they help you to overcome them.

If you would like to send Lady Abyss and/or her sons, Joseph and Jacob, a handwritten note you can use the following address: Witches of The Craft, P. O. Box 331, Kevil, KY, 42053. Put ATTN: whoever it is for. For example Witches of the Craft

If you prefer to send an email or e-card the email address is: witches_of_the_craft@outlook.com. Please put For Lady Abyss in the subject line. This way her office staff and other helpers will know it is personal for her. The same goes for her sons, it would either be For Joseph or For Jacob. The young men have gone through a lot in a very short time losing their biological mother Mistress of the Myst in a fatal car accident and all the things Lady A has been through in under a year. Both young men are very strong and have a great support system, that includes you, to have made it through a;; of this in pretty good shape.

I know any of the three of them, the WOTC Staff, and the special people that have been helping Lady A recover to get back to us would like to hear from you.

With my deepest gratitude and love from my heart to yours, Namaste Sisters and Brothers,

Lady Carla Beltane

Night Of The Witches Ritual – Chase Away Winter – Bele Poklade

Bele Poklade (Poklade does not have an exact translated word in English) The term translates to White Carnival. Some might even say “Shrovetide” I have included pictures of the carnival, but not my personal ritual. It gives you a taste of what its like!

Generally the first full moon in March is when this ritual is performed. Unless of course we are still in the throws of harsh winter. This ritual has deep Pagan roots and has become more Christian and is celebrated several weeks before Easter and parallels with Carnival season and Lent. Hence the term Shrovetide. Commonly celebrated in February by Christians.

School Shooting in Florida 17 Dead and 15 Woundef

I ask farmhouses positive energy and prayers to the victims families and the other students and faculty members touched by the horrible tragedy. The following article comes from the Washington Post this morning.

He had been getting treatment at a mental health clinic, but he had stopped. He had been expelled from school for discipline problems. Many of his acquaintances had cut ties in part because of his unnerving Instagram posts and reports that he liked shooting animals. His father died a few years ago, and his mother, among the only people with whom he was close, died around Thanksgiving. He was living in a friend’s house. He was showing signs of depression.

And Nikolas Cruz, 19, had a fascination with guns. He owned an AR-15 assault-style rifle.

Though school officials, students and others who knew him were aware that something was off with Cruz, it is unclear if anyone had a full picture of what was building within him in recent months. Had everyone who knew of his struggles sat down in a room and compared notes about his recent past, perhaps an alarm would have sounded ahead of what emerged on Valentine’s Day, when Cruz allegedly walked into a suburban South Florida high school and carried out one of the nation’s deadliest school shootings.

“Weird” was the word students had used for Cruz since middle school. At first “it was nothing alarming,” said Dakota Mutchler, 17, who attended middle school with Cruz, adding that there was something “a little off about him.” But that was it — for a while.

As Cruz transitioned into high school, he “started progressively getting a little more weird,” Mutchler told The Washington Post. Cruz, he said, was selling knives out of a lunchbox, posting on Instagram about guns and killing animals, and eventually “going after one of my friends, threatening her.”

On Wednesday night, Mutchler recalled Cruz as an increasingly frightening figure, being suspended from school repeatedly, before he was expelled last year. “When someone is expelled,” Mutchler said, “you don’t really expect them to come back. But, of course, he came back.”

He came back to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with a vengeance, according to the Broward County sheriff, who identified Cruz as the gunman who marched through the school with an AR-15 assault-style rifle, killing 17 people and wounding at least 15 others. He has since been booked on 17 counts of premeditated murder in connection with the deaths.
