A Thought for Today

As Witches or Pagans we do not need four walls, a roof, doors, and Windows to make our church. All we need is a quite place in nature be it our yard, a forest, by a body of water even if it is just a small trickling creek, etc. Or a place in our home to sent up a permanent or even a non-permanent altar to ask a Goddess and/or God to hear our prayers, help us work a magickal spell and/or ritual.

We do not need a book of specific songs to sing to or about our deities. All we need is our voice and to allow ourselves to sing or chant whatever words come to us to let a Goddess or God or both know what they mean to us as an individual. We do now need another book that tells us how we should be living.

We do not need to show off to other people we are a “put your choice of a main stream religion here.” We live our chosen spiritual path and walk in all aspects of our lives every day.

We do not need one specific day of the week to go into a building to “worship” our God. We can do it any day and place; although we do not worship our deities like main stream religions instead we ask them for help and give them an offering, as simple as pouring some water onto the ground, to thank the God and/or Goddess and/or the Element(s) for their help. We do not need a specific God to ask to save our immortal soul after committing a ‘sin’ and because we asked and it was forgiven by him weare are free from whatever wrong we did including murdering another person. We take the responsibility when we haves wronged another living being on Mother Earth an we go directly to the human, Animal, bird, etc and ask for giveness.

We do not need a specific religious dogma to follow. We have many pagan spiritual paths that We many just one to follow or we many pick and chose from more then one path to incorporate as our spiritual and magical path. The way we chose to practice The Old Ways or the more modern Neo-Paganism may change and evolve over time the only constant thing in your Magickal and Spiritual path is YOU!

Just a few things to think about until we meet again. Blessed be dearn

Looking Back On 2018 with Coven Life

In 2018 Coven Life’s Coven and website have had some highs and lows but our highs outnumbered the lows.

Our coven, novice and adept numbers grew. We saw our first Priestesses and Priest start to study and help with the day to day running of many parts Coven Life. Our gatherings for Esbats and Sabbats grew in attendance with not only coven members but guests as well. We were inspired by rituals written and lead by adepts and Priestesses.

Our coven grew closer as a family during a very bad time and in times that members needed support and help. We also celebrated good times members had as a spiritual family. Our coven has grown in numbers as well as our school enrolling more novices and novices moving up to adepts. We have or had members from every continent but Antacrtica and are looking forward to growing our coven family even more.

The worse time for myself and the coven was my mistake in judging someone and having to banish them because as a psychic vampire they were draining power and life force from myself and power from other coven members. But we made it through that and grew stronger individually and as a whole.

One of our best times was holding a ritual for a transgender member as she faced her last surgery to be in the body she should have been born into. The support and love our coven showed for her by attending and participating in the ritual was nothing short of heartwarming. Then too we all continued to show our support and love with sending her messages so she knew we were thinking of her, healing, lighting candles, and praying for a rapid recovery from the surgery. I a, very happy to say that I have talked with her almost daily and her recovery is going very well and that she is grateful to all her brothers and sisters for their love, support, and healing sent to her.

I went through a period of recovery from being drained by the psychic vampire. Without the support, love, and forgiveness from my coven and our Priestess Hypatia taking over running Coven Life for a while, I would not be in a position to be writing this. I also had minor knee surgery when again my right-hand witch Priestess Hypatia took the responsibilities of running CL over for a few days along with love, support, and healing from coven members and other people my recovery was quicker than the doctor expected for a person my age – for those of us 60 and over don’t you just love it when someone uses the phrase “for a person your age?” Only kidding you probably think like I do what does a number assigned to the years I have lived in this lifetime have to do with anything?

Other brothers and sisters in the coven family have had medical problems and every time we as a family have rallied around our brother or sister to support and help them heal through love, spells, sending energy and lighting candles.

Priestess Hypatia was able to take some spiritual retreats that we are hoping she will share a bit more about them in the coming year.

While these are just the major highlights of 2018, I would love for coven members and our other readers to let us know what your high and/or low has been for the past year please share it or them with us in the comments below. If it is an ongoing medical problem and you would like us to send healing or support or whatever you may need from us please leave a comment letting us know how we can help.

All in all 2018 has been a fantastic year for me as CL’s High Priestess and also just a regular coven member. I thank all of my brothers and sisters for all the love, support, and being an extended family not just to me but to each other as well.

We ring out 2018 together as a spiritual family and will (or have already in the Southern Hemisphere) ring in 2019 as a strong one. MAy everyone reading this have a blessed new year filled with more love, happiness, less stress, learn and teach each other more about The Craft, and have many wonderful things happen in your life.

Until we meet again blessed be,

Lady Beltane

Importance of Our Blood and Spiritual Families

A family can be formed in many ways. I for instance have my children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Then I also have my spiritual brothers and sister in Coven Life’s Coven and others that live in many different states and countries.

We all have times when we get frustrated with family members but the love we hold in our heart allow us to forgive them if we think the have said or done something wrong to us. Hopefully, they can accept an apology if you think you have done or said something wrong to them. True families are always capable of giving and/or receiving forgiveness.

I have been given two fantastic reasons for my gratitude cup to over which includes the Mother Goddess answering prayers for twin totally different things. I did not have anyone in my blood family that could take the afternoon off work on the 26th when I am having knee surgery but my dearest brother, White Wolf, called me Thursday to say he would go with me. The other prayer that was answered is having all my descendants together this coming Thursday for USA’s Thankgiving Day.

Another thing the Universe did was in the form of a very unexpected phone call last week from a close cousin I hadn’t heard from in about 2 years or more after us having an argument over what I don’t remember.

I include all these things in my morning prayer and meditation asking  Hekate and her consort to please making these things happen if they were suppose to.

Please remember you are part of our Coven Life family and we are here for you no matter what you maybe going through. If you feel the need to talk to someone about anything I am only an email away. For private messages please email them to Ladybeltane@aol.com As an ordained High Priestess what we talk about stays between you and I only.

Blessed be dear brothers and sisters.

A Thought for Today or in this case Tonight

Greetings dear ones. I am sorry this is the only thing I am putting up today. As some of you know I have fibromyalgia and arthritis plus an injured knee. I find out Thursday morning whether the injury requires surgery. Today I was in extreme pain and had to take prescription medicine which knocks me out. I should have wait on medicine until after posts went up. Oh well, tomorrow is a brand new day so I know everything will be better for all of out there in either with pain or an illness keeping us down. I prat to Kwan Yin, Sirona, and the ancient element of Air, Water Fire, and Earth that we will all feel less pain and whatever you have that you a speedy recovery. So Mote It Be!

With love and blessings dear ones. May your slumber be restful and your dreams all be pleasant.
