Applications will be accepted anytime
You must be 18 years old or the age your country deems you responsible for yourself to apply to be a student. Anyone under that age will have to have a parent/guardian write to us from their own email address after they have read the application and/or want us to answer any questions about The Craft and/or Lady Beltane or any of the Coven Life Elders questions about you that they may have before we will review your application.
Before we accept anyone as a student we ask them to answer the following questions.
Novice Application Questions:
What country or state you live in?
How old are you?
Why do you want to study The Craft with this coven?
Have you studied any tradition of The Craft before? If so, what tradition and for how long?
Have you ever been part of any type of Coven or Grove?
Have you read the rest of this post and understand what we expect from our novices?
Do you have any questions about the expectations of our novices?
Email your answer and/or questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. After Lady Beltane and the coven Elders review your application We will reply as soon as possible to let you know if you have been accepted or not.
If any of the guidelines in the Student Handbook are not met you will be dropped from the novice course. Please read the entire handbook. When you are done send us an email stating “I have read the Student Handbook and understand what is expected of me as a Coven Life student.”
We expect all lessons to be done in order and completed before sending them to us in the body of an email. Except for lesson CL1, any other lessons sent in an attachment will not be opened to review it and you will be asked to send it the proper way. One of the Elders will then review it and email you back with any corrections that need to be made and/or if further research is needed on any of the questions or we will email your next lesson out as soon as you can start on it. The lessons are like bricks in a foundation of a building if you miss putting a brick in somewhere or do not do it in the correct order the whole foundation is weak. When practicing magick there can be no weak spots in your foundation or your magick may hurt you or someone or something else somewhere in the universe. Email every lesson in its own email with the “Subject” line having the lesson number in it.
Even if you do not have a lesson ready to turn in we expect a short email every week from every student just so we can keep in contact all you really have to say is hi. If we do not hear from you for two weeks in a row we will believe you no longer wish to study with us and remove you from the class email list. We realize there are times health issues or emergencies happen for this reason we will keep your file for 3 more weeks for a total of 6 weeks before deleting you completely. If this happens please write to us or ask someone to write for you so we know you are still interested and if the coven can be of any help. If at any time during your 1 year and 1-day novice study period you chose to quit studying with us, we would want an email letting us know you are exiting the classes and coven and the reason why. It may be an issue we can compromise on so you can continue your studies. The Elders are available by email or to meet in the chat room if you need help with a lesson or have any questions about The Craft. If you want to talk in the chat room it needs to be scheduled a minimum of one week in advance.
We will try to answer all students emails within three days of receiving them.
Lady Beltane or one of the other Elders will hold open chats all novices must attend one of the two per month. The meeting time and date will appear in Coven Life’ Events which is on the right-hand side of the Hompage. An email will also be sent to all coven members at the begging of every month containing the events and possibly other information for that month. Please save the monthly email so you can check dates of gatherings, open chats, and other coven related things.
There are online coven gatherings on every full or new Moon and Sabbat the usual starting time for socializing is between 6:00 to 7:00 PM Central Time with the Circle being cast at 7:01 PM CT. The ritual lasts about one-half hour for each gathering. You need to attend the monthly Esbat and 8 Sabbat gatherings. As the Esbats and Sabbats fall on different days of the week according to the Moon’s cycle and Wheel of the Year so we can not give a set date to hold them on every month, please check the Coven Life website or your monthly Coven Life announcements email for the dates of Esbat and Sabbath gatherings as well as the open chats. The entire ritual will be posted in advance of the gathering and also emailed to all coven members.
You have to comment on one post every week so we know you are checking the website for posts that can further your education in The Craft or bring you closer to the pagan community you will be part of when you become a novice or sometimes just to get to know your mentor Lady Beltane or one of the Elders a bit better.
Refer to the Student Handbook the simple guidelines for the chatroom are to show courtesy to all coven members and visitors. The Guidelines for the Chat Room are on our Hompage, please scroll down until you find them If you have any questions about them please write to Lady Beltane at email@example.com
