Psychic Shield

We all need to protect ourselves from unwanted energies that we pick up from others, so today I thought I would share with you a modality that is completely mine that you can use on a daily basis to protect yourself in your path of being a witch.

When we pick up others energies, we are taking on their emotions and moods. This shield should be practice at lease once a day, so either in the morning or at night, whichever is best for you.

Start by getting comfortable, and a place you will not be disturbed. Start by closing your eyes and releasing tension or anxiety as much as you can.

Now visualize a purple light surrounding you, starting at the top of your head and then flowing down your entire body, through your heart Chakra down into your feet and then releasing into Mother Earth.

Now remember the purple light will get stronger and stronger and it is filling your body and its origin comes from the Goddess and God of your choice.

Next you will let the purple light come back up into your feet and then it surrounds your entire body into an oval shape, expanding out from your body. As the light forms around your body it encases you and it stretches out for 2 inches, then four inches, then 6 inches out from your body.

Now, affirm this statement: “The power of the Universe has surrounded me. Therefore the purple light around my aura is strong and protected, whereas it will repell any and all unwanted energy from others. I am safe within the boundaries of this purple light and nothing can harm or affect me. So mote it be!”

Now image the purple light going into the Universe, but the protection shield around you will remain enforced.

Now severe the rest of the energy by placing your hands about your head and slowly coming down and touching Mother Earth.

This is a very strong modality that I can up with about six months ago and it is very strong. I use it daily.

Blessed Be,

Melinda

The Drum and Our Heartbeat

This is information on what using a drum to accompany other instruments or by itself means to most Native Americans. Our coven Brother White Wolf wrote to friend and brother named Chief Golden Light Eagle. To listen to more of Chief Golden Light Eagle interesting and truthful videos covering different topics Chief Golden Light Eagle

Now on to the drumming information from Chief Golden Light Eagle via White Wolf…

“Whiteman uses drums in their dances — rock and roll, country and western and all sorts of other music categories — the sound of drums move people  in many different way.  So yes the heartbeat is what everyone depends on to stay alive – the drum helps us to remember our own heart – beat, our own breath and our life.

So yes the heartbeat is what everyone depends onto stay alive – the drum helps us to remember our own heartbeat, our own breath and our life.”

From White Wolf…

“The Native Americans believe that using a drum connects our heartbeat to Mother Earth’s heartbeat”

The Sun

Continuing from the previous post of aligning with Universal Powers for effective magickal practices…….

In this post I will be discussing the first of the Sacred Seven that I have been mentioning in the previous posts, the Sun.

You might be surprised to know that the Sun is considered a star, in antiquity however it was considered a planet.

The Sun is by far the largest object in the solar system. It contains more than 99.8% of the total mass of the Solar System (Jupiter contains most of the rest).

Ahhhhhh the giver of life and the bringer of energy. It’s no wonder throughout time the Sun has been worshiped by everything, including all our planets, asteroids and everything and everyone here on earth.

Have you seen the way the sunflower turns to hail the sun, or the way plants and trees grow to the light, animals do it too? We as humans are unable to live without this beautiful ball of energy literally. Our entire world and celestial sphere is dependent on this energy.

The Sun is attributed to the element of Fire, the aspect of creation that propagated all of existence. It comes under many names, there is not one culture on earth during humanities existence that has not perceived its power and strength and therefore dedicated an appropriate God head to this Star.

A list of endless solar deities listed in Wikipedia alone, in the link provided below.

Sun Meditation

Having a love affair with the Sun is really quite magickal.

  • The energy of the Sun that is received as rays of light, sends codes through our entire being to recharge and energise our soul.
  • Face the Sun and allow its divine energy to illuminate your being through every cell in your body
  • Soak in the light by bringing it into your body through your heart space. It is through the heart space that the Suns energy is soaked through to energise the rest of your chakra system. The sun through the heart space is the powerhouse for your chakras and therefore your entire cellular body.
  • Envision the interior of your body glowing in a red light
  • See your bones, veins, muscles, arteries, venules, your skull, your arms, legs, chest, your entire body and ALL of its organs filled with this energy
  • Know that every aspect of your body, that also includes your spirit and your soul is aware of the Sun
  • Sit and enjoy this for as long as you dare, continue to breathe rhythmically and enjoy. Do this every morning. Salutations to the Sun every morning is probably one of the most invigorating things you can ever do in your life.
  • If there is no Sun, you simply need to imagine this beautiful ball of light, it’s as simple as that!!!

Use the above information including the meditation to make a Sun spell!

May your next Sunday morning be a magickal one.

A Day of Seeing Gaia/Mother Earth Through a Child’sEyes Again

I woke to see Ra shinning down on us after being buried behind nasty storm clouds for the past week. The temperature is a balmy 70F with Air providing g a gentle breeze. The only drawback is for those of us allergic to mold spores which are out in full force. I’ll still take this gift of this beautiful day and I just take some allergy medicine. I’m writing this while sitting outside watching my almost 4-year-old grandson play. Plus because of the Maple tree in their yard, I was able to explain where big trees come from. The seed from any Maple tree has about a 1/2 inch seed encased in a thing that looks like a wing sort of. As kids, we called them “whirlybirds.” There was also a couple of small new birth twigs with 3 different size leaves on them, so we talked about how trees and the leaves on them start out small like any baby and geta bigger as they get older.

Whirlybird/Maple tree seed pod

Then we watched, played, and talked about where ants live and what they might eat. I had yo hold in my laughter when he asked me if I would make lunch for the ant so the 2 of them could have a picnic. LOL

Next came the different birds he pointed out. Some of them I could tell him the name of others not. Time for grandma to learn the names of the birds that are in this area.

The most important part of these in prompt to lessons was how important it is to respect everything that is gifted to us by Mother Earth/Gaia and that we should live in harmony with the plants, animals, birds, insects, etc that are around us instead of helping to destroy our Blessed Mother. When school is out for summer and break it is time for me to take these 2 grandsons, the one I’m with has a 6-year-old brother, on walks with trash bags in hand to pick up whatever garbage other people leave out of laziness, apathy, and zero respect for the living breathing entity shaped like a huge ball floating in space as a solitary planet called me earth by those who don’t realize she is the Mother that nurtures us.

I ask that where ever you may go by foot or bicycle to please take some type of disposable bag with you, you know the ones you have to bring groceries and other things home in, and either gloves and/or hand sanitizer than pick up behind those that are less caring about our Mother than I know you are. I use desirable bags for shopping now I like many are on a tight budget, even tighter now with buying WOTC, so each month I saved my change in a container and than counted before leaving to go shopping the next month. Whatever it added up to I would use it to buy as many reusable shopping bags as I could. I even saved enough over 2 months to be able to have an insulated bag for my freezer stuff. Now I’m saving to get another insulated bag for refrigerator stuff. That way if my hubby and I have other errands to run I do not have the to be concerned about as much with possible spoilage or melting.

Some Beautiful, Relaxing Music

Our brother, White Wolf sent me an amazing shorten derision of thisarticle song by Ajeet Kaur. I have used it just to unwind from a fast paced day and also for meditation music. I suggest if using this video for meditation you either sit or lay down so you cannot see your computer screen, light a couple of candles that have been placed on spots that are safety (you can use battery operated candles also), have the incense burning that helps you to relax. Make sure to have a glass of water within hand’s reach to drink when you are done with your meditation. Thank you White Wolf for sharing this with us!

Kitchen Lore – How Chinese Clear the Qi (chee)

Follow this ritual and make your kitchen a place of joy and harmony. The Kitchen has always been a traditional source of magic in many countries, and remains the focal room in many homes. Creating a balanced atmosphere in your kitchen will not provide a welcoming and relaxing place, it will also make an ideal location for preparation of magic. Qi (pronounced “chee”) is a positive energy force that sustains all living things; it sometimes becomes blocked and creates the wrong atmosphere. This ritual will help restore the positive flow of Qi in your kitchen.

INGREDIENTS (List of what you need)

Pendulum or Key

Length of Cord

election of Chinese Spies – Here is a link  for different types of “Chinese” spices Chinese Spices and Herbs

Shiny Metal Bowl

Boiling Water (I suggest doing this spell if you have children when they are a school or taking a nap, also no pets in the kitchen at the time of doing this ritual because of safety with the boiling water)

(RITUAL)

To check if your kitchen has a negative flow of Qi, thread the Pendulum or Key on to your Cord and hold it in front of you; it will swing regularly as you walk. Starting from the center of the room, walk outward in a clockwise direction (in a spiral), covering the whole area. If the pendulum stops swing or pulls in an erratic manner, there is an energy blockage. Note where this happens (I suggest taping a small piece of paper to the floor at this point). To restore harmony start by placing spices (number of Chinese spices to use is not mentioned. I suggest using 3 or 6 or 9 different ones to keep the number of times to repeat a spell in The Craft for it to work as you envisioned it) in the metal bowl in the center of the space (You might want to put a trivet, potholder, towel, basically anything to keep the heat of the boiling water from leaving a ring on your wooden floor) Then pour boiling water over them so the aromatic steam rises up out of the bowl. Place a mirror on the wall that is opposite the problem area to reverse the flow of negative energy. Arrange as many plants as you can in the space. You will notice the difference as negative energy is transformed to positive, and blocked energy is released.

CAPTIONS UNDER PICTURES – 1. Make sure that the key hangs vertically on the cord, with about 40cc drop beneath it. 2. At first the aroma will be quite pungent as you pour boiling water over the spices, but the odor will soon fade to a pleasing scent.

(All things in slanting font are suggestions or links added by Lady Beltane to help clarify the ritual a little bit more)

The Moon in the Signs – Part 3 of 3

The Moon moves through the twelve signs of the zodiac each month, spending about two and a half days in each sign and taking on the sign’s characteristics while there. Moon sign astrology is an ancient tradition and holds a significant place in folklore and magic. In addition to using the waxing and waning phases of the Moon in daily life, it is important to know which Moon signs can be helpful to the job at hand and which will work against you. Here is a description of how the Moon behaves in each of the twelve signs.

CAPRICORN

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign dominated by the lesser master, Saturn. This is good planting and graphing time, but when the Moon is here everybody wants to be the boss, so hold back on the autocratic orders. This sign is a gateway to the land of magic and very powerful in obtaining what you need. In this Moon, you will find the crone and profound wisdom, so don’t let negativity and depression get you down, However, the Moon is not happy here and tends to be ruthless with other’s feelings. Try bending at the knee for a little humility.

AQUARIUS

Aquarius is a fixed air sign ruled by traditional Saturn and transpersonal Uranus. This Moon is happy working for the common good of all, so use this time for coven matters or working magic for others. Selfish independence is a problem with this imperial Moon, as personal magic can boomerang with scattered thinking. Garden chores should be limited to weeding and clean up. It’s ok now to dress a little weirdly and express your off-the-wall thoughts. Stay out of your in-line skates if you have weak ankles.

PISCES

Pisces is a feminine mutable water sign traditionally ruled by Jupiter and by the modern Neptune. Another very fertile sign, it is good planting all seeds. This is the Moon that rules magic itself, so it is very powerful for prophecy, dreams, and deep psychic work. Use it to explore past lives and all secrets; you can find things you’ve lost or mix potent ritual elixirs and perfumes. You don’t need to polish off the cooking sherry to make music and dance or find your spiritual roots. Avoid getting lost in the fantasy; keep your feet on the ground.

The Moon in the Signs – Part 2 of 3

The Moon moves through the twelve signs of the zodiac each month, spending about two and a half days in each sign and taking on the sign’s characteristics while there. Moon sign astrology is an ancient tradition and holds a significant place in folklore and magic. In addition to using the waxing and waning phases of the Moon in daily life, it is important to know which Moon signs can be helpful to the job at hand and which will work against you. Here is a description of how the Moon behaves in each of the twelve signs.

LEO

Leo is a fixed fire sign, and King Lion is ruled by the SUn. It is the most barren sign and the only garden job it is good for is weeding. Leo loves to be appreciated and looked up to. Use this Moon to work with your stocks and bonds, creative arts, pets, hobbies, and romance, Throw a dinner party with a drama flair – make barbecue or serve flaming brochettes, in honor of the Sun. Be generous and kind; don’t behave like a sulky child.

VIRGO

Virgo is a mutable earth sign, and it too is ruled by Mercury, which lends abstract thought and a keen critical intellect to the Virgin. Pay attention to details and all matters concerning health and healing, nutrition, herbs, crafts, ethics, service to others, volunteering, and communication needs. Use this Moon’s energy to thoroughly clean house.

LIBRA

Libra is a cardinal air sign and also ruled by Venus. When the Moon is here it is time for partnership matters, legal affairs, socializing, and planting flowers. Balance and harmony are the Venusian theme to this Moon time, so use it to accomplish things with another person. MAgic can be done with a partner, and it’s definitely time for romance, sprinkle rose petals in the incense burner, but don’t overimbibe; your kidneys will give you a headache.

SAGITTARIUS

Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, under the domain of Jupiter. Go with your current mood of warmhearted friendliness and take your mother-in-law to lunch and a lecture at the museum. Schedule a trip to Malta or Avebury Plain for an independent journey. Be Philosophical about your restlessness and mail your manuscript to the publishers. Use intuitive gifts to work some divination magic. Harvest fruits and vegetables. Be careful not to injure your hip when you fall over the pattern in the linoleum. (I think the last line was put here just for me since I can trip over my own feet…lol)

Week 5 – Goddess Knowledge – Flora

Flora, “Flourishing one,” was the Roman goddess of flowers, gardens, and spring. She is the embodiment of all nature; her name has come to represent all plant life. She is especially a goddess of flowers, including the flower of youth. Her festival of unrestrained pleasure, the Floralia, was celebrated at the end of April and beginning of May; this festival was probably the orgin of the maypole dance and the gathering of bouquets of flowers, symbolizing the bring of spring and new life into the world. She gives charm to youth, aroma to wine, sweetness to honey, and fragrance to blossoms.

Flora teaches us to honor growing things, both inside and outside us, She is a reminder to pay attention to pleasure, to the beauty of spring, and to new life, where it is found.
