Today’s focus is surrender versus escapism. The Divine works through us, not for us; we must serve a responsible cocreators of our life. Too often surrender is interpreted as a come-what-may approach, but there’s more nuance to healthy surrender. What must be released are the ridge plans of the ego in favor of trusting that taking the next step is enough. Once that step is initiated, we will be given the next, but we won’t be shown the entire map before we agree to leave the house, nor can we escape the responsibility of taking action in the absence of complete knowledge. This is the dance of surrender. Today, explore your plans and goals. Do you have any? Are they set in stone? Pare it down to just the next step, asking for guidance and allowing your intuition to inform you[r] actions. If you’re guided to follow- up step that deviates from the ego’s plan, can you surrender, taking action with openness and curiosity?

Daily Chakra Healing (Part 6) Friday – Throat

Friday: Throat

Today’s focus is productive dialogue versus monologue, bot internally and with others. Dialogue invites new perspectives and requires flexibility, while monologue sticks to the script and is immune to change. Our thoughts can remain open and curious or resist new perspectives. In conversation, we can allow ourselves to be surprised, to truly listen and be present, or we can wait our turn to resume or monologue. Notice how dialogue builds on the previous chakra: for example, we’re more apt to welcome change and surprises when we feel safe (root), and we’re less likely to make negative assumptions when we fell connected (heart). Both fellings foster healthy dialogue over fearful, rigid monologue, Today, practice being present and curious in conversations, whether they are happening internally or with others. When your mind is certain, say, “I wonder what other possibilities exist — I’m open to perceiving them.” Be fully present in the conversation. Don’t worry about what you are going to say next; simply savor the details, said and unsaid.

Daily Chakra Healing (Part 4) Wednesday – Solar Plexus

[This article will be posted split with parts 1, 3, 5, 7 posted on Witches Of The Craft. Parts 2, 4, 6, 8 will be posted on covenlife.co All the posts will be found under Daily Posts on both websites. I suggest you get a new journal of some kind to write down your observation in.]

Wednesday: Solar Plexus

Today’s focus is responsibility versus control and the interesting, often inverse, relationship between the two. Controlling behavior whether directed at ourselves or others, often conceals unconscious responsibilities that must be owned if the controlling patterns are to be healed. For example, if you struggle with micromanaging your diet, this could conceal a need to own your own emotions and embodied experiences. It can feel easier to hyperfocus on controllable factors, like what to eat and how much, instead of exploring the messier emotions surrounding those food choices. Today, get curious about aspects of your life that feel controlled or overly rule-bound. What feelings come up when you ponder lose reins? Can you take responsibility being fully present with the feelings, and if they reveal a need for change, how can you take the next step in that direction?

Daily Chakra Healing (Part 2) Monday – Root

[This article will be posted split with parts 1, 3, 5, 7 posted on Witches Of The Craft. Parts 2, 4, 6, 8 will be posted on covenlife.co All the posts will be found under Daily Posts on both websites. I suggest you get a new journal of some kind to write down your observation in.]

MONDAY: ROOT

Today’s focus is safety and shadow side, stagnation. This chakra helps us cultivate the foundation necessary to survive and thrive, and without this stable base, it’s challenging to manifest what we need. We might feel as if we’re one step forward and two steps back, never able to gain a solid footing. On the flip side, we can become so attached to stability and supports that they become constraints, preventing us from evolving and remaining flexible. Today, get curious about where you feel safe or unsafe (physically, emotionally, spiritually, or intellectually) and where you feel stuck. If you imagined breaking free from stagnation, what might that look like, and what thoughts and feelings arise?

Color: Red

Location: Base of the spine

Crystal: (wear, carry, or meditate with): Garnet, hematite, red calcite, jasper

Food and Drink: Red potatoes, red beans or lentils, radishes, beets, rooibos or hibiscus tea, dandelion root for deep grounding

Psychic Shield

We all need to protect ourselves from unwanted energies that we pick up from others, so today I thought I would share with you a modality that is completely mine that you can use on a daily basis to protect yourself in your path of being a witch.

When we pick up others energies, we are taking on their emotions and moods. This shield should be practice at lease once a day, so either in the morning or at night, whichever is best for you.

Start by getting comfortable, and a place you will not be disturbed. Start by closing your eyes and releasing tension or anxiety as much as you can.

Now visualize a purple light surrounding you, starting at the top of your head and then flowing down your entire body, through your heart Chakra down into your feet and then releasing into Mother Earth.

Now remember the purple light will get stronger and stronger and it is filling your body and its origin comes from the Goddess and God of your choice.

Next you will let the purple light come back up into your feet and then it surrounds your entire body into an oval shape, expanding out from your body. As the light forms around your body it encases you and it stretches out for 2 inches, then four inches, then 6 inches out from your body.

Now, affirm this statement: “The power of the Universe has surrounded me. Therefore the purple light around my aura is strong and protected, whereas it will repell any and all unwanted energy from others. I am safe within the boundaries of this purple light and nothing can harm or affect me. So mote it be!”

Now image the purple light going into the Universe, but the protection shield around you will remain enforced.

Now severe the rest of the energy by placing your hands about your head and slowly coming down and touching Mother Earth.

This is a very strong modality that I can up with about six months ago and it is very strong. I use it daily.

Blessed Be,

Melinda

Saturn

SaturnSymbolMeaning

“A wise man, recognizing that the world is but an illusion, does not act as if it is real, so he escapes the suffering.” ~ Buddha

Continuing from the previous post of aligning with Universal Powers for effective magickal practices…….

In this post I will be discussing the 6th of the Sacred Seven (in no particular order) that I have been mentioning in the previous posts. Here I will be talking about the planet that is connected to your 6th chakra and spiritual evolution. Saturn is the highest planet in the hierarchy of planets (of those known to the ancients) and thus the closest to the Gods and thus associated with immortality and longevity.

Saturn is associated with time and is timeless.

So what does this mean?

In Mythology:

In Greek antiquity Cronus was the counterpart of the Roman Saturn. Cronus was the titan son of Uranus (heaven) and Gaia (earth). The word Cronus in Greek actually describes time therefore he was the personification of time itself and ruled the cosmos during the Golden Age. Later the Romans adopted him into their religion and renamed him Saturn.

Saturn helps us realize that we are beyond time, that we are one with the universe, originating from the very energy that created us. We are all STARDUST. This energy was created during chaos, and yes the Greeks also had a God by this name that personified the chaotic birth of the Universe.

3rd Eye

This planet assists in unlocking our sacred place in the universe and by meditating on your 6th Chakra you can learn to melt away the complicated world around you. The 6th Chakra is connected to what they call your 3rd eye. This is the place where the human body meets the celestial spirit, it is the Anja (in Hindu).

The 3rd eye is actually our Penal Gland in in our anatomical structure, so once again the ancients knew what they were talking about. Shaped as a pine cone- hence its name derivative, this gland is responsible for secreting melatonin which plays a role in the body’s internal clock or what medical science calls the circadian rhythm, one that regulates our relaxation and sleep.

This chakra is also called the brow chakra as it is located between your brows on your forehead and is considered to be the ‘seat of your soul’.

In Ancient Egypt

The eye of Ra or Horus is actually a representation of the penal gland, not only in a spiritual sense but also in a pictorial depiction.

Below is a picture comparing the 2 with rather uncanny similarities.

The penal gland is where we perceive or see all things as energy around us. This is a place where you gain your multi-dimensional vision.

Meditation

The colour of this Chakra is Indigo. Each Chakra also has a sound, this is the sound of the universe- the sound of OM, the symbol is.

Below is a short meditation on YouTube that you can try to assist you in connecting to this Chakra.

You can meditate on the above- sounding the OM loud or within and using the colour for visualization.

BASE CHAKRA – A CONNECTOR TO THE PHYSICAL

The base chakra is the first of the seven main chakras that are of a physical nature.

This chakra can go by several different names:

  • Base Chakra
  • Root Chakra
  • Earth Chakra
  • Foundation Chakra
  • Muladhara (Sanscrit word meaning – root or support)

This ‘red’ chakra is found at the base of the spine, the perineum.

The base chakra is often dismissed by individuals studying the chakras, as many are drawn to the mysteries of the spiritual chakras.  However, the base chakra is by far the most important chakra.  Everything starts here.

Balancing Your Energy Body: A Complete Guide to Chakra Healing

Our Chakras

Everything in our universe is radiating energy, from the biggest mountain or ocean, to the tiniest blade of grass, to each individual cell in our body. All of our cells emit energy in different ways, and different cells will emit different kinds of energy depending on where they are located within the body and what their job is.

It should come as no surprise, then, that given the specialized nature of your body’s energy, there are several different channels located on key points of the body through which energy can flow in and out in a constant stream. These are called the chakras.

The word chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit, though these are not like any wheels we’ve ever seen. Chakra energy spins in a clockwise direction as it moves the energy of our body out into the field around us, and it spins counterclockwise to pull energy from our external world (and the people in it) into our body. It is the frequency state of our chakras that determines the direction our energy will flow as they either draw energy into our body or release it outward.
