Earth Day is 365 Days Every Year

I do not hold to only April 22nd each of being the only Earth day. To me part of my path as a Witch is being an environmentalist 365 days every year.

Since I could walk as a 1year old child I was taught to enjoy the boutiful eye candy Mother Earth freely gives to us each and every day. I was also taught to bring at that time a very small trash bag to put the liter in that we would pick up trash that others left behind. Even at this young age it pissed me off.

Fast forward a few years to when I was around 3 years old and my family would go camping. Here I was taught to leave our campsite cleaner than we found it before setting up our big tent. But here my parents made a game out of it…whoever picked up the most trash, rocks, twigs, etc got an extra toasted marshmallow that evening. I know now that they always conspired to let me win.

Fast forward again to when I was around 9 years old attending Brownie Girl Scout day camp. By this time whenever I left my home I carried a bag to pick up after litter bugs, a new name I had just figured out what it meant. My dear mom was the leader of my regular troup but at day camp she just did art projects with the girls for many troups. She was surprised during a lunch break whenn she was told I was causing quite a stir with passing out small garbage bags to eevery girl saying in each class, “My mom always says we have to remember to leave the place we learn at and the hiking trails we walk cleaner than we found them.” I was even giving all the adults bags.

Fast forward to me being a mother and instilling the same message to my childern who have carried it on with their children.

The noral of this story is “Always leave whatever part of Mother Earth you travel through especially on foot cleaner than you found it.”

Blessed be dear ones.
