Friday: Throat

Today’s focus is productive dialogue versus monologue, bot internally and with others. Dialogue invites new perspectives and requires flexibility, while monologue sticks to the script and is immune to change. Our thoughts can remain open and curious or resist new perspectives. In conversation, we can allow ourselves to be surprised, to truly listen and be present, or we can wait our turn to resume or monologue. Notice how dialogue builds on the previous chakra: for example, we’re more apt to welcome change and surprises when we feel safe (root), and we’re less likely to make negative assumptions when we fell connected (heart). Both fellings foster healthy dialogue over fearful, rigid monologue, Today, practice being present and curious in conversations, whether they are happening internally or with others. When your mind is certain, say, “I wonder what other possibilities exist — I’m open to perceiving them.” Be fully present in the conversation. Don’t worry about what you are going to say next; simply savor the details, said and unsaid.

Daily Chakra Healing (Part 4) Wednesday – Solar Plexus

Wednesday: Solar Plexus

Today’s focus is responsibility versus control and the interesting, often inverse, relationship between the two. Controlling behavior whether directed at ourselves or others, often conceals unconscious responsibilities that must be owned if the controlling patterns are to be healed. For example, if you struggle with micromanaging your diet, this could conceal a need to own your own emotions and embodied experiences. It can feel easier to hyperfocus on controllable factors, like what to eat and how much, instead of exploring the messier emotions surrounding those food choices. Today, get curious about aspects of your life that feel controlled or overly rule-bound. What feelings come up when you ponder lose reins? Can you take responsibility being fully present with the feelings, and if they reveal a need for change, how can you take the next step in that direction?

Ritual for Seeing Where You and Loved Ones Will be After COVID-19 is D0ne

I got the idea for this ritual from Gregg Braden on his show “Missing Links,, Season 1 Episode 7.” He tells a story of a Native American asking him to go with him to “pray for rain”, they live in northern New Mexico where there has not been any rain in quite some time. When they reach his friend’s Medicine Wheel his friend steps inside of it for a few minutes and then comes out asking if Mr. Braden is ready to go to lunch. Mt. Braden is a little confused and asks his friend “David”, “I thought we were coming here to pray for rain.” To which “David” replies, “I was taught to see things are they would be when the rain fell. I could feel the mud squish between my toes coming out of my pleubo, to smell the cleaner air, to see things turning green and the crops in the fields growing. If we pray for something that is happening right now we get nothing but if we can see and ask for what it will be like after it rains than the rains will come.”

We are living in very uncertain times for all parts of our lives except the spiritual one. This is a time when we need to step up and use our spirituality and magickal abilities to help ourselves and others.  The intention for the ritual in this Esbat gathering is to ask for healing mind, body, and spirit for everyone including yourselves anywhere upon Mother Earth and for Mother Earth Herself. Please try to keep your mind focused not on what is happening now but how we see things at the end of this COVID-19 virus. Yes, some things are hard to picture on a grand scale so keep it simple and see how you, your loved, and friends came through this virus strong and healthy. See you and/or your loved ones, and/or friends back to work. See all of you gathered together having a party of some kind to celebrate – remember in this age of being able to connect with people anywhere in the whole you could even do a Skype conference call party (Skype allows 50 people to be connected to each other at the same time).

So, for a little while at least set your worries and stress aside and join us in this Esbat celebration of how each of our personal lives will be at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The song I picked May The Circle Be Open is to remind us we may not be in a circle together all the time but there are ties that still bind us together so we are never truly all alone. We are going to do a healing drumming circle than at the end we will meditate for 2 minutes. Then anyone that wants to will have a chance to share their fears or stresses or where they see themselves and family at the end of the pandemic. There will possibly be a time limit set for each person sharing time depending on how many people join us in this gathering.

What You Need:

1 large white candle (that you can burn for 1 hour every day for 1 week. If you feel you want to keep lighting the candle after the first week then that is what you should do just make sure your candle is large enough for the duration you want to keep lighting it.)

Correct size holder for your candle

Your favorite Essential Oil for dressing the candle after engraving it

A device you can listen to the song (watch the video if you want to)

Something sharp to engrave you candle (a knife, your Atheme, a toothpick or a pin of some kind)

Fireproof Container to put the burning paper in

Lighter or Matches

RITUAL:

I call to Archangel Raphael to reside in the Watchtower of the East to help protect those in this circle and when we leave it from any type of negativity.

I call to Archangel Michael to reside in the Watchtower of the South to help protect those in this circle and when we leave it from any type of negativity.

I call to Archangel Gabriel to reside in the Watchtower of the West to help protect those in this circle and when we leave it from any type of negativity.

I call to Archangel Uriel to reside in the Watchtower of the North to help protect those in this circle and when we leave it from any type of negativity.

I invoke Goddess Sirona (1 of the healing Goddess of the Celts) and God the Dagda (Celtic God of fertility, agriculture, life, and death.) to walk this circle with me three times three. To take us to a place that is not a place and an out of time as we know it. I bid you reside in our circle to help give strength and power to our work here.

Please click on this link to start the song setting your intention(s) of where you and those you care about will be feeling and doing after the COVID-19 pandemic has passed while listening to the song.

Healing Chant

Now take approximately 5 minutes to write your intention(s) down on the piece of paper – How and Where you see yourself and those you care about feeling and doing once the danger of the virus is gone.

Next, inscribe the names or initials of the people on the paper you are doing this ritual for. When you are done with that take a small drop as needed of your favorite essential oil start at the bottom of the candle in one motion smear the oil to the top of the candle. Turn the candle clockwise and again apply the essential oil, repeat these steps until you come to where you put your first line of essential oil overlap the first and last applications.

Now light your candle. Burn the paper with the candle while visualizing how everyone included on the candle lives will be at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in whatever country or state you all live in. Repeat this spell/prayer three times while the paper is burning: (If you feel a word or some words need to be changed to fit how you would say this spell or prayer you can do that as this is your plea and thanksgiving to your deity)

Sirona we ask for the health for those we have written here is strong and unaffected by COVID_19. Sirona we thank you that none we asked you to watch over became sick

the Dagda we ask that you keep us working from home or where we are employed or go to school. the Dagda we thank you for taking us through this time with being employed and/or in school that none of us lost anything we needed for home and hearth.

I see those on my candle as still being healthy, employed, and now able to go on with our daily lives. As we mourn with those far and wide who lost someone to this pandemic.

So Mote It Be (OR However you end your spell or prayer

Daily Chakra Healing (Part 2) Monday – Root

[This article will be posted split with parts 1, 3, 5, 7 posted on Witches Of The Craft. Parts 2, 4, 6, 8 will be posted on covenlife.co All the posts will be found under Daily Posts on both websites. I suggest you get a new journal of some kind to write down your observation in.]

MONDAY: ROOT

Today’s focus is safety and shadow side, stagnation. This chakra helps us cultivate the foundation necessary to survive and thrive, and without this stable base, it’s challenging to manifest what we need. We might feel as if we’re one step forward and two steps back, never able to gain a solid footing. On the flip side, we can become so attached to stability and supports that they become constraints, preventing us from evolving and remaining flexible. Today, get curious about where you feel safe or unsafe (physically, emotionally, spiritually, or intellectually) and where you feel stuck. If you imagined breaking free from stagnation, what might that look like, and what thoughts and feelings arise?

Color: Red

Location: Base of the spine

Crystal: (wear, carry, or meditate with): Garnet, hematite, red calcite, jasper

Food and Drink: Red potatoes, red beans or lentils, radishes, beets, rooibos or hibiscus tea, dandelion root for deep grounding

There is no Time Like the Present- 6

Written for Coven Life

By priestess Hypatia

  1. Flow-

Today we will be remembering the word that allows all energy to exist, as without this there is nothing, literally……….

I have been excited even thinking about writing what this word means to me at this time. To me the flow exists beyond time, in the dark and light of the universe, in different dimensions, in alternate universes, it is the ingredient that brings to life from the smallest of atoms to the largest of black holes.

Now some call this universal energy, cosmic flow, others call it God, Goddess, prana, some call it time, spirit, life and some name it the Big Bang. Call it whatever it is you want, it is the one thing that gives meaning and existence to all that is. The flow exists as the ‘rhythmic pulse’ one that creates the magick that we can see, feel and experience. It goes beyond this earth, into the universe and much further out. It then comes back into our being, it is in every aspect of our surroundings, it is in the stars, the moon, the sun and the planets, it is in every plant, animal, animate and inanimate object, it is in our very body occupying every single cell.

The Flow gives us power to bring to life whatever we need. It is present in our autonomic nervous system that regulates certain body processes from breathing to blood pressure and creates a pulse therefore creating life. The earth has Her own flow, it is in the ebbs and flows of her oceans, the tides, day and night, the seasons, the elements and so forth.

This little series of trigger or remembering words has been created during this time to assist myself and hopefully engage others in assisting themselves in going through this tough period. Life has not been easy for many, and the stress of all that is happening around us is impacting our body, mind and soul. So for today I’m just going to remind you to be present in the flow and remember to BREATH.

Breath-

Our breath is one, if not, the most import aspects of a human being. It not only generates our flow for actual life but it allows us to get into the flow of everything around us. Ever feel ‘out of rhythm ‘. It’s because your ‘not in the flow’.

In some schools of thought it is called the ‘Spiritual Cosmic Breath’. It is the very essence that begins our ‘earth walk’ from the first breath we take, and it is the very last breath we take that stops this existence here on this earth. When we surrender to the rhythm of the Great Cosmic Flow we release the need for ‘Control’ .

So for now just allow the flow through your breath and allow it to breath you. Verse yourself in breathing exercises that work for you. Engage in meditative practices that will allow you to get back into the flow. This is a reminder for you to BREATH. Learn to flow with your breath and understand that it is the very rhythm that everything and I mean everything that was created and will continue to be created. Flow from life to death and back to life again. Our breath here on earth is guided by respiration of every single cell in our body. We breathe the air here on earth, in and out, from the very first breath we take until the very last. However our origins of life was not here on earth but was given to us by the cosmic flow. It was the very rhythm that was created in the womb of our mother, the energy of our parents sacred union and finally the birth, all because of the miracle of the cosmic flow. On our last breath here on earth, our prana, our spirit whatever it is you like to call it, goes back into that cosmic flow, the ‘Spiritual Cosmic Breath’ that created us, this gets recycled into the cosmic energy pool to create more energy, more life and more flow. When you look at it this way, you can understand why the ancients thought that we are all related, connected, from the blade of grass, to the stars, to all the animals, plants, planets and so forth, as we are ALL from this one source.

A perfectly rainy day

Study session by Dawn
Today is the most perfect day and the gods include days like today to give us time to relax, recoup, talk, tell stories, maintain and strengthen family bonds.
Yes it is raining but not hard, the ground is soaking up the moisture like a sponge to take care of all the vegetation coming to life as the god gets stronger every day. We need days like this so we will be able to produce everything we need to get through the cold winter that is 6 months away.
The temperature is very tolerable as long as you are wearing a sweat shirt or light jacket, so if you really need to you can get out side and work or walk or whatever else you need to do
But here is a suggestion, especially with the virus thing going on, get the family together and cook a meal, something warm and hearty, a soup/stew would be an excellent idea. have the kids help show them how to mix the ingredients, cut the vegetables, cut up the meat. Make them part of the process, help them learn what it means to fix a meal, set the table do the dishes.
Then when that’s done get out a card game or a puzzle something that everyone can enjoy and participate in, and instead of looking at this day as a rainy cool inconvenience look at this day as a chance to family. tell stories about the family so the children can learn about their ancestors, tell jokes laugh and have fun. Families dont have good fun together today as much as they had in the past. The kids are going to remember days like this a lot more than days in which you HAVE to go out and work in the rain or HAVE to go to the grocery or HAVE to ……
And later in the afternoon as everyone is winding down, take a nap, turn on an old movie and just relax. The gods knew that the people needed to rest from time to time, and made days like this so that we would have to rest and may I dare say it FAMILY.
I hope you all as my family have a most perfect day today
