Brought together this day
In the name of the goddess and the god
To dedicate themselves to each other
And to the old ways that led them here

That we may work together in harmony
Learning and growing together
As we follow the wheel of the year
And bask in the light of the Sun

May the earth grant us strength
May the air grant us wisdom
May the fire grant us passion
May the water grant us flexibility
So we might work together for the good of all

Bless this gathering of Witches
Brought together this day
In the name of the goddess and god
To dedicate themselves to each other
And to the old ways that led them here

Work for beauty and to look young on Fridays

Merry Meet dear Brothers and Sisters of the Craft

Today is Friday and I wanted to share the Norse myth about how do the Norse Gods look young although they are immortal and supposed to look like old ones.

Friday is named after Freya, the Goddess of Vanir Gods, who became Odins wife. Freya is the Goddess of Love and Magick, close connected with Elven realms and Plants, herbs, she is also a Master of transformation , she can put on her feather mantle and fly like a bird. But the Goddess who keeps everyone look Yong is called Idun who carries with her a wooden chest full of Golden apples. When she notices that a God looks old, a single apple from Iduns box is enough to make this God look young again. But Idun had an incident once and was taken from Asgard…

Anyone lucky enough to go to Asgard, where the Norse gods live, would see at once that all of them, with the exception of Odin, are young, beautiful and handsome. Odin is the exception as he does have such a long beard, and he would look much younger if he shaved it off. But no-one shaves in Asgard, and now I am thinking about it, this may be because the other male gods look too young to grow a beard… How do they manage this? You might well ask, given that they’ve been up in Asgard for quite a while. The answer lies in Idun, and her Golden Apples.

Read the myth here and enjoy

After today, we could all buy stock in Kleenex and become millionaires, lol! I have learned you might as well have a sense of humor just to get by in this world. Seriously though, there is so much I want to say, I can’t put it into words. I didn’t tell Lady Beltane but the doctors had told me how long I had after I got out of the hospital till my spleen started acting up. Its amazing, I didn’t know a darn thing about my spleen till this, now I know more than I want too. Apparently the first blood clot I had didn’t come from my leg, it came from my spleen. The doctors in Nashville told me that was the first warning sign something bad was going on. If the doctors up here had took more time and run more tests they might have found the problem…

With Heartfelt Thanks and Tears of Joy

I know my sister, Lady Abyss has thanked you for helping her to live but I feel I need to thank you for you rallying around the plea I made for her yesterday. She is getting her life-saving medicine because every person who donated towards it no matter how small or how large it all help her to reach her goal. It is a marvelous thing you did for her and her sons. I so excited to be going to Lady A’s life celebration gathering and I hope you will all attend.

Let us not stop the healing candles and prayers, miracles do happen and hopefully, with enough of us pouring out powerful positive healing energy to Lady Abyss there will come a time in her life that she can go off this medication and still live a long life.

I gratefully bow in thanksgiving to Lynette, Elanor and Lord M for being there 24/7 since the fire to protect her in the hospital and help her do things she just could not do when she came home from the hospital after the fire all the way through to the crying and shouts of jubilation as Lynette ran out the door this afternoon to get Lady A’s life-saving medicine. The time, energy, support, love etc you have given our Lady is priceless. Thank you again.

My brothers and sisters, I cannot explain the roller coaster my emotions have been on the last month with our Lady in the hospital again and then finding out that she can only live by taking expensive medicine. I thank you for the love and support you have shown to me also.

I ask the healing Goddesses I work with, Kwan Yin and Sirona, to keep you all in good health. I also ask them that if you have health problems that they help you to overcome them.

If you would like to send Lady Abyss and/or her sons, Joseph and Jacob, a handwritten note you can use the following address: Witches of The Craft, P. O. Box 331, Kevil, KY, 42053. Put ATTN: whoever it is for. For example Witches of the Craft

ATTN: Lady Abyss

PO Box 331

Kevil, KY,

If you live outside of the USA the address would be:

Witches of The Craft

PO Box 331

Kevil, KY, USA,

If you prefer to send an email or e-card the email address is: Please put For Lady Abyss in the subject line. This way her office staff and other helpers will know it is personal for her. The same goes for her sons, it would either be For Joseph or For Jacob. The young men have gone through a lot in a very short time losing their biological mother Mistress of the Myst in a fatal car accident and all the things Lady A has been through in under a year. Both young men are very strong and have a great support system, that includes you, to have made it through a;; of this in pretty good shape.

I know any of the three of them, the WOTC Staff, and the special people that have been helping Lady A recover to get back to us would like to hear from you.

With my deepest gratitude and love from my heart to yours, Namaste Sisters and Brothers,

Lady Carla Beltane

Well We Didn’t Get Blown Away But I Did When I Saw What Happened While We Were Off The Net….

Witches Of The Craft®

Thank you--Dankeschön

I am speechless. I honestly don’t know what to say. How do you thank someone for saving your life? How do you? From the time I made our first post and had to get off the internet because of the tornado warning, the money came in to purchase the medicine I need to survive. I have always prided myself on being rather calm, laid back and sort of hard hearted. My experiences over the years had made me that way. I would still like to think I am calm and laid back but not heart hearted anymore. You have changed that so very much. When I opened our PayPal account, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had to take a second look. Then this old witch (I ain’t that old, now) broke down and cried. I have met a lot of people over the years. I don’t believe any of…

Good Tuesday Morning To All My Precious Family & Friends! May the Goddess Bless You & Yours Today & Always!

Witches Of The Craft®

Thank you for your Beautiful Friendship....

Good Tuesday Morning, my sweets! How are you doing today? Up and ready to kick the world in the rump? I will make this short I promise, I know once I get going I don’t have sense enough to hush. I might get hushed before I am ready to quit talking. We have some severe thunderstorms rolling through here again. I believe it has rained 40 days and 40 nights or at least it seems that way. About ready to build the witch’s version of Noah’s Ark, lol! Seriously though, I don’t know if it is the other medication I am on or what but I read Lady Beltane’s post this morning and cried. I got to wondering why does it take facing your own mortality to realize what wonderful friends you have surrounding you and what you have truly been blessed with. The out pouring of love for me…

The Book of the Irish: 7 Must-Read Celtic Myths and Legends

Irish myths and legends are often so romanticised that, by the time many of us read them, the original stories are unrecognisably altered. In some cases, the reinterpretations are excellent, offering a fresh take on old tales. In other cases, the original myths have been sprinkled so liberally with good-natured stage-Irishness that they’re more confusing than anything else. Sadly, many rewrites end up glossing over some of the most interesting and engaging elements of those Celtic stories altogether.

For those of us who grew up in Ireland, Saint Patrick’s Day is an excellent way to see quite what the rest of the world makes of Irish culture, and particularly in places with large Irish populations, like Canada and the US. The result can often can be a disappointingly one-dimensional take on Celtic myth and legend. With that in mind, we’ve put together a collection of some of the stories that we’ve read over the years that we felt should be considered essential reading for anyone trying to get a handle on the history of Irish mythology.

Top 10 Irish Myths and Legends

Ireland’s long history is riddled with ancient mythology and folklore. Ireland’s ancient societies, the Druids and the Celtics, believed in the power of magic and many of these beliefs spread to modern day legends told again and again across the country. Stories of warriors with all the knowledge of the world, fairies playing pranks on farm owners and leprechauns hiding their gold at the end of a rainbow add to the mysterious appeal of Ireland.
