As Samhain (pronounced So-wen) approaches most of us think of ancestors as family members who have crossed into the Summerlands before us. To me and others there are other types of ancestors also. Here are some suggestions all the witches and, to me at least, the innocent people burned, hung, tortured, pressed, stone, and left in prisons to rot to death during the Witch hunts lashings approximately 100 years starting in Scotland in approximately 1591 and end in Massachusetts, USA approximately 1692. All the witches and pagans who have fought for decades for our religious freedom in countries all across the world. Teachers, friends and maybe even friends parents that help make you the person you are today.
So I have decided this year to do posts on ancestors of all kinds instead of the usual history of Samhain, Halloween, rituals, etc. There are quit a few posts on this website and Witches of The Craft’s website for you to read on those topics.
I would love to hear and post about one of your blood or non blood ancestors. Just write two paragraphs, a name for the post, and the name you want me to use to give credit for post to. Send it all in the body of an email and I will post it as soon as I can. The cut off date for submissions is Sunday October 29, 2017 at 9:00 PM CT. Submit more than one of you want to. Let us here about and celebrate the unsung heroes in your life! Email your story to firstname.lastname@example.org
